Cabins

Our collection of historic log cabins and modern lake homes embody the spirit of the Northwoods and feature pristine views of Clearwater Lake. Fully equipped with the comforts of home, they are a perfect lakeside retreat on the historic Gunflint Trail.

Our cabins have a 3 or 7 night minimum stay, depending on the season. Be sure to review our reservation/cancellation policies prior to booking.

CABIN ONE

Sleeps up to six guests

Cabin One offers a beautiful lakeside view from the glassed in porch or from the private dock. Built around 1930, Cabin One is an original at Clearwater Historic Lodge.

CABIN TWO

Sleeps up to seven guests

Cabin Two has access to the water from your own private dock, or enjoy a delicious meal on the screened-in porch. This cabin’s large windows bring picturesque lake views right to you.

CABIN THREE

Sleeps up to eight guests

Cabin Three features a large screen porch where you can listen to the loons, watch the hummingbirds, or enjoy a classic Northwoods sunset. Enjoy private dock access just a few steps from your door.

CABIN FOUR

Cabin Four is a cozy two bedroom cottage situated high above the waterfront. Enjoy stunning lake views from the spacious living area and balcony deck or private dock.

CABIN FIVE

Enjoy this authentic BWCA cabin nestled among the trees. Situated on a peninsula, Cabin Five offers a stunning view of the lake and the Clearwater Palisades.

CABIN SIX

With a direct overlook to the Clearwater Palisades, Cabin Six is a treat. Enjoy the stunning views from the glassed-in porch, expansive wood deck or your private dock just a few steps from the deck.

Cabin Seven is a stylish “Lake Home” with vaulted ceilings, wrap porch, and a large living space: perfect for socializing and enjoying time with friends or family.

Cabin Eight is one of our luxury cabins, with magnificent views of the Clearwater Palisades. It is a perfect choice for those who value solitude and privacy.

Cabin nine is a two-bedroom cabin that sits across the bay. It is perfect for those who want more solitude and privacy with a private dock and private fire pit area.

Cabin Ten is a great choice for those who desire solitude and privacy. Spend your evenings overlooking the lake on the wrap around deck, fire pit or private dock.

CABIN ELEVEN

Cabin Eleven is a Northwoods luxury. This four-bedroom, three bathroom cabin sits between the lodge and corner bay. Fit with modern conveniences, angled deck and a lovely screened porch.

Patrick’s Cabin is a 2-bedroom private home Clearwater Historic Lodge rents on behalf of the owner. This cabin sits high on a hill surrounded by trees providing a secluded feel.

Bed and Breakfast Lodging

Plan a stay in one of our bed and breakfast style rooms, or book a suite! The lodge is the perfect place to enjoy your vacation. All lodge guests receive complimentary breakfasts with their stay. Consider the lodge your “home base,” as you explore the BWCA and the Gunflint Trail, or simply relax on the porch and enjoy the tranquil beauty of Clearwater Lake.

Suite A is a spacious two bedroom unit complete with a kitchenette, private bathroom and a wonderful view of Clearwater Lake.

SUITE B

Sleeps up to four guests

Suite B is full of Northwoods charm. Accommodations include a private bathroom, kitchenette, queen bed, and futon.

CHARLIE'S ROOM

Charlie’s Room, named after Clearwater Lodge’s founder, is one of the original rooms in the lodge. This room has a king bed, and shares a bathroom with Petra’s Room and Voyageur Room.

PETRA'S ROOM

Petra’s Room is an original lodge room named after Petra Boostrom, wife of Charlie Boostrom. Petra’s Room offers a queen bed and shares a bathroom with Charlie’s, and Voyageur Room.

VOYAGEUR'S ROOM

Voyageur's Room, named after the French Canadian fur trappers, is an original lodge bedroom and features two twin beds. Voyageur shares a bathroom with Charlie’s Room, and Petra’s Room.

Bunkhouses

Book a bunkhouse before or after your adventures out into the BWCA. Bunkhouse guests have access to shower houses and towels as needed. These are the perfect option for seasoned campers/paddlers, or folks who are looking for a one night stay before or after a paddle trip.

*Our bunkhouses rent per party and we do not mix groups in the same bunkhouse. In the event that bunkhouse rentals are near capacity, we do reserve the right to reassign bunkhouses based on group size and corresponding bunkhouse room capacity.

Bunkhouse One is a great option for medium to large sized groups. It sleeps up to eight people and has a private bath and shower.

Sleeps up to six guests

Bunkhouse Five is great for medium size groups. It sleeps 6. This bunkhouse uses our public restrooms and showers.
