From Grand Marais, MN:
Drive northeast on Highway 61 through Grand Marais. Turn left onto the Gunflint Trail / Highway 12 (just after passing Subway) and follow it for 26 miles. A mile after passing Bearskin Road, turn right onto Clearwater Road / Highway 22. Follow this dirt road for 4 miles until you reach Clearwater Historic Lodge.

Lodge Operation

We are open seasonally, opening and closing days will vary each season.

Lodge Store & Front Desk Hours – 7am to 5pm daily (during regular season)*

*With the exception of our winter rental cabins (8 & 11 – see Winter Cabin Rentals under the lodging tab) Clearwater Lodge is CLOSED to the public from early October to early May each year. We continue to actively monitor email and voicemail during the offseason and take reservations for winter cabin rentals, future summer lodging, and BWCA outfitting during the offseason. We are generally able to respond within 1 to 2 business days.
