With the piles of snow slowly disappearing and the sun rising higher into the sky every day, it is only a matter of time before Clearwater Lake is open and free of ice. Every year the staff plays a fun game where we guess the date the ice will be completely gone. This spring we thought we’d open the contest up to all our blog readers and Facebook fans. The 5 people with the closest guesses to the date the ice goes out completely will be part of a drawing for great Clearwater Historic Lodge & Canoe Outfitters prizes.
We will open the contest today, Friday April 3 and take guesses for two weeks. The last entries will be accepted until midnight on April 17. Guesses must be submitted through our blog – Facebook comments will not count – and only one guess per person will be accepted.
After April 17, we will update our blog and website with changes as much as possible as the ice begins to go out.
Guesses can be submitted here: http://www.
As of yesterday there was 36″ of solid ice on the lake and this is what the lake surface looked like.
